 Bequeathing a Legacy and Receiving

The next USTHS Grand Alumni Homecoming (GAH) shall be held on February 20, 2010, at Plaza Mayor right outside the UST Main Building. And while the GAH is geared towards bringing together the various alumni of UST High School of all batches and from anywhere in the world, it is moreover aimed at raising the needed funds for the joint scholarship program of UST High School and the UST High School Alumni Association Inc.

Yet, even before the big event transpires, the members of Batch 1960, the Golden Jubilarians of 2010, have gone ahead and risen to the occasion, now contributing a total of P500,000.00 to the scholarship program.   

Specifically, Batch 1960’s most recently donated P100,000.00—the check for which was formally turned over by the Batch, represented by Mr. Girme Gutierrez, the Chairman of the 2010 GAH, to USTHSAAI, led by its President, Ms. Leebai Esquivias-Gamboa, on August 29, 2009, during that month’s OrgCom 2010 meeting at Girme’s residence in Pasig City. This donation completes the pledge made by Batch 1960 following its initial check donation of P250,000.00 to the scholarship program last July 1 and P150,000.00 last July 25.

JUST A QUICK NOTE

We need somebody, or a group of people who can coordinate with Leebai Esquivias-Gamboa '78 (VP of USTHS AAI and Diplomat for Membership) for UST's visit to USA next year. This volunteer work will only involve coordinating with the Class of 77 on matters pertaining to this visit by the Regent, Principal and Ms. Manapat who is Chair of the Alumni Commiittee in the high school.
